Ross Pelton
Nutritional Therapeutics, Senior Science Consultant

Ross Pelton graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy in 1966. He moved to Chicago and worked as a pharmacist for Walgreens for a number of years. In 1972, Ross joined the US Peace Corps. He was stationed in Malaysia where he taught high school chemistry during his 2 years of service. During his travels in SE Asia, he had the opportunity to closely observe local shamans and native healing arts in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
In 1984, Ross received his Ph.D. in Psychology and Holistic Health from the University for Humanistic Studies in San Diego, California. In 1988, Dr. Pelton moved to Mexico to take advantage of a new job opportunity. From 1988-1994, Ross was the Hospital Administrator at Hospital Santa Monica in Baja, Mexico, which was a well-known alternative, non-toxic cancer treatment center.
In 1994, Ross left Mexico and moved to San Diego. He became a Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) and opened a clinical practice as a nutritionist. In 2001, Ross and his wife Taffy moved from San Diego, CA to Ashland, OR where he was the Pharmacy manager at Rite Aid pharmacy for twelve years.
In 2014, Dallas-based Essential Formulas, Inc, hired Ross to be their Director of Science and Education, which is a position he still holds. He is also a senior science consultant with Nutritional Therapeutics.
In October 1999, Ross was named as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Pharmacists in the United States by American Druggist magazine for his work in natural medicine. He has also been a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Life Extension Foundation many years. Ross is also a lifetime member of the National Health Federation (NHF) and in 2024, he became a member of NHF’s Board of Govonors.
Throughout his career, Ross has been a speaker at many health conferences and pharmacy and medical conventions on a wide range of health-related topics. He is also a frequent guest on podcasts, webinars and radio shows.
