Dr. Spring Behrouz

Vincere Biosciences, CEO

  • Dr. Behrouz is a translational neuroscientist focused on developing therapeutics for aging and age-related diseases. Her interest in neurodegeneration began over 20 years ago during her PhD in Neuroscience at Michigan State University, where she studied mitochondrial dysfunction in dopamine neurons. She deepened her expertise in drug discovery during her postdoctoral work at the Mayo Clinic, contributing to the development of LRRK2 inhibitors now in late-stage clinical trials.

She later co-founded Neuroinitiative, a computational drug discovery company, and Vincere Biosciences, which develops small molecules that overcome dysfunctional mitophagy, a key contributor to aging and neurodegenerative disease. At Vincere, Dr. Behrouz has recruited top talent, raised venture financing, been awarded non-dilutive grants from NIH and MJFF, and received industry awards from J&J and BMS. Dr. Behrouz and her companies have a singular mission: To translate into human application disease-modifying therapies that target the underlying biology of aging.
